Hyderabad: Amara Raja Batteries Limited (ARBL) has recently signed a land lease agreement with GMR to set up an Advanced Energy Research and Innovation Centre, called the E-Hub, at GMR Aerospace & Industrial Park, AeroCity Hyderabad. This centre will be a one-of-a-kind institute in India that will pioneer the development of advanced clean energy technologies for mobility and energy storage.
The R&D centre will be spread across approximately 7 acres in the Industrial Zone of the AeroCity. Given the proximity to the airport, well-developed infrastructure and a vibrant industrial neighbourhood, this development has the potential to kick start a green power storage ecosystem at AeroCity Hyderabad. The E-Hub will also support startups through incubation, lab spaces and a collaborative ecosystem.
Aman Kapoor, CEO, GMR Airport Land Development, said, “The partnership with Amara Raja Batteries marks a significant milestone towards that future.”
Vikramadithya Gourineni, Executive Director, Amara Raja Batteries said “The E-Hub is a part of our Rs 9,500-crore Giga corridor initiative. It will be a unique facility to hasten the development of viable technologies in new energy.”
